Welcome to my LiveJournal!
Wow, I love the fairy in the roots one! But congratulations on the Nymph selling so well, so fast!
They are both lovely as usual! I really love "Nymph of the Dying Leaves". The wings on "Fairy in the Roots" are beautiful!!
gee whiz, that one sure went quickly! but i can see why--simply gorgeous as always, miss jasmine :)
Lovely as always! I know I don't always comment (don't want to swamp your replies ;)) but Ia lways look at your new paintings and think they are lovely. I especially like the nymph of the Dying Leaves one.
Oh, just out of curiosity, did you use both your maiden and husband's last name? Is that because of your art? I met my husband when I was just starting to submit my work to shows, etc. so I took his last name early for the art. I always wonder what other women do.
I was born Jasmine Griffith, and I kinda just wanted to keep it that
way. Matt (Becket) and I moved in together when I was 18, and we didn't really plan on getting married, but after a few months we decided it would just be easier to be "legal" as far as mortgages, loans, bank accounts, insurance, etc. goes. So, we went and paid $50 to a judge and got married. I kind of wanted to keep my name, but I wanted simplicity and not having to explain that YES we were married, and YES we had different last names, etc. etc. etc. so instead I just hyphenated it. That way people who knew me as Jasmine Griffith would still recognize my name, and people would understand that I was married to Matt at the same time. I put "Becket" first, so I would show up closer to the front of the alphabet, lol. Sometimes (for sake of space, like on dinner reservations and stuff) I'll just be Jasmine Becket, or Jasmine Griffith. But my "real" name is Jasmine Becket-Griffith. It took awhile to explain it to the Social Security people though - I've got four SS cards now all with different names on them, lol. Which I suppose will come in handy if I ever have to skip the country and move to Belize under an assumed name (like if I decide to pursue a career as an international jewel thief or something).
Hehe - feel free to comment whenever you like!! That's why I have this journal =)
I still have ppl trying to email lgondeck instead of lsilvia and I just noticed my payroll has me listed as single *lol*. I'll tell ya what though, I did the whole shebang wedding (except I ran out of money for a honeymoon). And if I had it to do all over again I think it'd be a lot less "busy".
*lol* I sent out your christmas card as Jasmine and Matt Griffith. ;)
Hehe, no problem - he's used to it! I think most people DO put their maiden names first when they hyphenate from marriage, so I should probably be "Jasmine Griffith-Becket", lol - so I'm the backwards one. I just wanted to be closer to the top of the alphabet so I put the Becket first ;)
By the way - I loved your card!!!!
Beautiful! I especially love the Nyph of the Dying Leaves. Something about the whole soul of the picture. And as always the face is SPECTACULAR. So life-like!
That one went fast! And a darn good price for ebay! Good for you!
