Ahhhh - Celebration! I love this place so much, I can't even describe it, lol! It's located here actually ON Disney property. It was conceived, designed and built by the Walt Disney company (even on the floorplans for our apartment they showed us before we moved here had the little © Disney on everything, hehe!). You wouldn't really know it by looking around though (the characters stay in the theme parks, lol!), other than the fact that everything is so clean, well designed and nicely manicured. Before I moved hear I had read all sorts of wild rumours about the place (mostly in the "Truman Show"/"Stepford Wives" comparisons) but it's all BS. I've had nothing but positive experiences living here. It's very well-planned - so much is in walking distance, we rarely need to drive except to leave town. We're surrounded by a wide expanse of protected wetlands, so it has a very "small-town" rural feel to it, but it's just a hop skip and a jump to Orlando and all of the central Florida attractions. There is tons of wildlife here - we go walking every night and see owls, deer, armadillows, all sorts of bizarre birds, alligators, FROGS, TOADS, lizards, etc. I love it! We're RIGHT by Disney World too, so we have four theme parks, a couple of waterparks, DisneyQuest, Downtown Disney, all the Disney resorts, etc. just minutes away, which is awesome. We have unlimited annual passes to all of it which kicks ass!!!
The people who live here in town are great too - everybody is so darned laid-back and friendly - it's hard to believe! The town also CONSTANTLY has festivals and concerts and fairs and things going on, which is awesome. We live right on top of a Tavern downtown, so we're always right in the middle of the festivities!
The only bad thing really is the relatively high (for Florida at least) property costs. The average home here costs about $400,000 and many are far more than that. But, there are more affordable options (like the terrace homes, where we'd like to start off with) which are in $180,000s and the Bungalows and Garden Homes (which we'd like to settle down into in maybe five or ten years down the road) which are in the mid $200,000s. The town was only built in the late 1990s so ALL of the houses are practically brand new, and gorgeous, and once you throw in the great location and zero crime rate it's really not that bad of a price =)
Oh my - I'm rambling - I could drone on and on about this place forever.... I have WAY too much town pride, lol - here's the "official" website: http://www.celebrationfl.com
