Busy busy.... [Nov. 4th, 2003|12:51 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I got lots of stuff done today - mostly bookkeeping stuff. I also answered a TON of email, arranged for a UPS pickup for some paintings, and bought some airline tickets to go visit little Theodore later this month!

ARGH! I finally spoke to a representative at the US distribution center warehouse for "The Art of Faery" and found out that the US shipment has been delayed until THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER! Apparently there was an "incredible and unanticipated" demand for the book, and they have had to schedule more to be printed for US distribution. So, we have to wait. I need to go update my website to let everybody know that shipping will be the first or second week of December. Blah! Well, I'm happy that there was such a crazy demand for the book, but I (and I'm sure everybody else who has ordered it) am very anxious to receive my stock! I really wish they hadn't given me the "okay" to start taking orders =P Ah well.

I'll be painting in a little while - you'll be able to watch me here

December!! :P That's a lot later than I ever thought it would be! I'm so sorry they had you start taking orders early! Now you've got to keep track of them all! What a pain! But "Crazy Demand" for the Book is a wonderful thing!! Your gonna be famous!

Woohoo! Yeah, I have to admit, it's a pretty good sign when a book is backordered before it's even distributed, lol. Argh though - keeping track of all of the orders, and keeping everybody informed is nuts! Next time I have a book out, I'm going to wait until I get the stock in my own little hands before I start taking orders, hehe.

Congratulations! It sounds like things have really taken off for you. I think it is great when people can do what they believe they are supposed to do with their lives and support themselves at the same time. Good luck with your future work!

webcam

do you have a blocker like History Kill or Zone alarm where you can check for the site being blocked that way?? (or in your internet page where you go under internet options and find the tab -i think content is one of them) to set your settings plus high to medium etc? I've had this problem for awhile until i set ALL of them so i can view the webcam. Hope this does help. Laura

Hehe - thank you! This one I'm planning on featuring bright contrasting patterns (checkerboards, stripes, etc.). I got the idea whilst painting my "What Mischief She Makes" piece - I'd like to feature a faerie kind of like this one : with cute stripey horns!

This is so so so adorably cute...she looks sad!!! it looks like she needs a hug!!!! Jasmine--I am glad the book is in good demand!!! Wow--YOU AND MATT are going to be terribly busy in DECEMBER!!!! I think it was good that you did have orders done already ---you know how many there are so far---you can always get the packaging envelopes ready with the addresses before the shipment comes in--cuz i can tell you probably will have a thousand orders to complete and not to mention christmas shopping, cooking, baking, painting, fun, relax etc. Whew! I am tired already...You must have energy!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Laura

Re: above

Hi Laura!!! Lol, that's the truth!!

Luckily, Priority Mail makes a box just the right size for the books, and we get those boxes for free, so it works out great! We just need to stock up on bubble wrap. I've got lists of everybody who ordered them, what sort of personalization they requested, etc., so hopefully it won't be too much of an ordeal! Hehe, besides (from the industry's standpoint) right before Christmas time is a great time to release a book!

Thank you Jacey!!! This one is actually that same light green colour as in my icon, but it's monochromatic (just that light green and black). I'll probably be done with her in a few hours and maybe have her up on eBay tonight! I really like how she's turning out =)
