Your paint

Jasmine Becket-Griffith, I can't get your webcam with my lame computer, so I can't view your creations-in-progress. Could you tell me which brand of acrylic paint you use? Thanks!

Re: Your paint

Hi Valerie!!!!! After experimenting with nearly every brand of acrylic paint out there, I've decided that the 2oz bottles of liquid acrylics normally found in the "crafts" aisles work the best with my methods! I use a "layering" technique, and I paint horizontally (rather than at an easel) so liquid acrylics work the best for me! They are also the cheapest, and the most durable paints. The dried colours are the same as when they are still wet (not always the case with other types of acrylics!). They dry quickly, which I like! Usually I use "Delta Creamcoat", "Apple Barrel", or "Americana" brand paints. Depending on the store, the brand names may change. "Folk Art" makes some great pigments as well!!!

Re: Your paint

Wow...thank you for all this great information! I paint too, and have had problems with the colors drying too dark, as you mentioned. It's great to know that the less expensive paints are also very durable and dry quickly as well. Your layering technique creates beautifully shaded work!
