Pointy ears? [Sep. 23rd, 2003|02:02 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I've been toying with the idea of having my ears pointed for years. I never knew that anybody offered the service though, until a few weeks ago:

My ears are really big and they stick way out, so the procedure might lend itself well to me. Something to think about....

what!! Get your ears pointy!
That would be interesting!
You know what you should do..play with Photoshop and make your ears pointy to see how it looks!
AND SHOW US!!!!

Oooh! Definitely! I always do things in Photoshop first - like when I began colouring my hair, or when I first plucked my eyebrows, or painting my home, etc. It's a good way to visualise things first!

Dude. No lie. My ears are kind of pointy, naturally. And someone asked me about two weeks ago if I had done this thing you're thinking about doing. Since I had never heard of it, my reaction was, "Huh? NO! These are my ears, thank you!" But now you've posted this, and I don't think that person is quite so crazy anymore.

Uh, aside from that...if you go for it, I hope it doesn't hurt horribly...or bleed a lot...*feels nauseated*

That... is definitely the most awesome way to alter one's body. Wow.

What are the risks?

I'm not sure - but it's definitely something I would research thoroughly before I'd commit to it!

Hee hee, my ears stick out too. When I was little kids used to make fun of me and say I had, "Elf Ears" now I guess it is a compliment. :)

I have sensitive ears. I guess I should have mentioned that before rolling around in mock-agony. But if you don't have hurty ear issues, I say go for it!

The second pic is a lot more noticeable. I've always said that if I ever got some kind of surgery done, it'd be getting pointy ears. I'd want it to be REALLY obvious, though, you know? Chris has one ear that's kinda pointy...

Yeah - they guy said that they can do different degrees of angles - the first one is like a 30degree, and the second is a 50degree.

Ugh, those subdermal implants kinda freak me out! I'd constantly be poking at them.

Oh lordy, your posts make me realize more and more how old I must be getting! I was such a counter culture teen myself, but the thought of getting pointy ear surgery makes me all squicky. :) Nothing else like the fuddy factor to let you know yer gettin old.

If you do go through with it, I hope you love them for many many years.

That's cool! I have always thought about getting vampire fangs! Nothing drastic just permanent caps a little longer and pointer than my eye teeth normally are. I don't think i'd ever be brave enough to actually do it though.

umm,i dont really know what to say but ouch-i have a really low tolerance for certain types of pain and i think that my ears being as sensitive as they are might be one of those areas-i couldn't handle the cartidge peircing that i had like 3 years ago because i couldn't sleep on that side and of course that would be the only comfortable position the rest of my body wanted to be in....erghh no real peircinf fun in the military.
