Nice rain! [Aug. 22nd, 2003|05:31 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
There is such a lovely rainstorm outside right now.... I'm going to open the window! One of our windows has roof over it (it opens out over a walkway) so it won't "rain-in". I must say - this was my first full summer in Florida, and it sure has been mild! A few days of mid-nineties, but nothing intolerable. I'm used to the usual 105+ summers back in Kansas City, lol. I like these nice summer days with highs in the 80s - that's just perfect for summer, I think. It's funny, people kept warning me - "Florida summers are so hot and humid..." and I'd tell them, "Well, KC was pretty hot and humid..." and they'd roll their eyes. Lol - whatever!

I'm not sure if I will get much painting in tonight - Matt just came home from work early, and I might spend some time with him (since he's gotta work all weekend). If I do start up, I'll post here!

it's been oddly mild over here in south carolina, too. normally, even here in the mountains, we have really humid summers with temps in the 90's...climbing up to around 100 from time to time. this summer it's been in the upper 80's on average. not too bad...well, except for all the rain and storms!! :P

Doesn't it stay hot in Florida all the time, though? I thought it was pretty much in the 80's always. I couldn't take that - I swear, I would kill myself if Summer lasted more than three months. I love cold weather! The biggest town in the county I grew up in just had an all-time high (for that day) of 70! 75 is suck-hot to me!

Nah, in the winter it's mostly highs in the 60's and 70's. At least here in central Florida. In south Florida (like in the Florida Keys, or in Miami) it stays in the 80s almost all the time.

I love big rain storms too. Once in a while, though. It rains far too much in this country! ;) I especially love thunder storms.
You go cuddle with your lovie. I'm sure he needs your tender love. We're so lucky to have such wonderufl men in our lives. They need us just as much as we need them. I hope everything is well with his grandfather. I'll be thinking of you guys.
