|Preparing to paint....
||[Aug. 8th, 2003|04:38 pm]
Matt's just left for work =( Poor thing, I could tell he really wanted to stay home today (he kept telling me how he was going to miss me - I think when I went to KC by myself I scarred him for life!). I hung out with him all morning, went to the post office, grocery store, went and looked for alligators, etc. We had a wonderful time =)|
Now is the time to paint! I will begin shortly, and you can watch me here: http://geocities.yahoo.com/webcam/public/jasminetoad
I've gotten an enormous number of requests for more mermaids, so I might paint a mermaid - and I want to do some more Tiki art too... Who knows? I'm just going to start splashing paint on the canvas and see what it turns into =)
I know I've got a mass of email to attack (a bunch of LJ replies to make as well!) but I'll get to that later. I....must...PAINT!
Where is the Jasmine? I do not see you =( I only see a canvas with PRETTTYYYYY PRETTY colors of greens and blue =) But no Jasmine =( =( =(
Hehe, sometimes I stop for a little while when my backgrounds are drying - to answer email, check LJ, lift weights or ride my exercise bike ;)
OH! Ok then, you are forgiven ;)
Lift weights, huh? Rock on! MUSCLE woman!!!! How heavy are they?
Just little handweights - 10 lbs each I think. I just do it so I don't feel to lazy while my paint dries. I used to do weight training in college (at the gym) - I'd like to again - we might join the fitness center here in a few months and I'll get back into the swing of it...
My sister Amber (kenderdrache
) puts me to shame though. People will stare at her if she wears a tank top - she is so built! She recently earned her blackbelt in Karate, and constantly does Tae-Bo, lifts weights, you name it!
Jesus! I feel pretty lazy now, lol. I do pilates, and that is about it. Although I do have small hand weights (five pounds not ten) that I use to attempt to build some muscle. A BLACKBELT? that is amazing! I only know two people who have ever made it that far in karate. I bet her and Del would have a lot to talk about =)
i trained here with grandmaster kaicho tadashi nakamura at honbu in nyc for a long time but didn't earn my black belt, the sparring got a little insane for me and i started focusing more on yoga, but karate is a really cool thing, and the meditation definitely helped me a lot spiritually. plus it made me realize all the things that i didn't even imagine were possible.
is that faery about to lick a poisonous toad? youd better not let her do that or youll be up all night "babysitting"!
LOL!!! I just looked at my webcam - it totally looks like that, hehe.
Don't worry! She's just gazing longingly at a little green butterfly. She doesn't have wings herself, and I think she's jealous ;)
That is an awesome idea for a painting though...
he, he im so tired i didnt notice she had no wings:)
you should definately do that as a painting:D
im going to send you an email really quick with a link!
i forgot to say, its just something silly
I have followed your LJ through a few of our mutual friends, and I always check out your web-cam. I am about 7 hour ahead of you- but I finally saw your cat make a cameo! He? was standing back by the doorway, flicking his tail!!! It was sort of like seeing big foot!
I have to say the usual (but true!)"I really enjoy your artwork"!!! I am going to add you to my friend list if that is okay? - so I can avoid having to go through others' journals to get to yours!
Thank you so much =)
My painting schedule is (very roughly) noon - 2am US Eastern Standard Time. It varies drastically though (for example, it's noon here already and I still need to buy groceries, lol), so don't hole me to it ;) If I'm working on commissioned pieces I generally do it away from the camera (for my client's privacy) though.
I almost always post in my journal with a link to my webcam when I'm ready to start!
