I finally updated my Elfwood gallery =) It's full now - 50 paintings. I removed some older pieces, and added tons of new ones. I *plan* to add new pieces from time to time, trading them out. I'm crossing my fingers for a "moderator's choice" again! I did switch my filter to "fellow artist comments only" after the insane rash of (jealous?) hate mail and comments I received from anonymous posters last time! Of course, seeing how my pending update ticket is currently #2852 (I'm serious) in the update queue, it could take a little while before the new gallery is published. I'll post when it is up and ready!|
I talked to my dad tonight - he and Robin are going to be in Las Vegas most of the time during my visit to Kansas City a week from tomorrow (hehe, it's like I never moved - I visit there, have visitors here, almost non-stop!). I'll just be gone over the weekend though (just me - Matt has to work) so I can go to novemberhour and callandor's wedding on Saturday the 2nd, and then my mom's birthday on the 3rd.
Tonight I worked on a couple of new paintings! A new one, featuring a stormy pirate-y mermaid scene, and another swampy scene - probably some faerie lives there. Both are mere backgrounds now, I'll have to finish working on them tomorrow. I will have to get to all my emails tomorrow too - it's getting late! I always forget how long it takes me to do all of that Elfwood stuff...
Hehe, you must spend a LOT of money on plane tickets, lol. Although you guys do drive there too, so maybe you don't spend all that much money...
Will you be bringing back any visitors this time? =)
And I honestly can't believe that you would get negative comments about your art. OBVIOUSLY they are jealous. =P Stupid humans.
Argh, I do spend a lot on plane tickets!!! I almost always pay for my sisters & brothers in law, etc. when they come to visit (I'm the one who wanted move out here after all!). I'm going to KC next Friday, and then in August my brother-in-law James is coming to visit (he and Matt will hang out a lot!), then Matt's mom is coming in September (and I'll probably go up to KC in September as well). Pretty hectic!
The only reason we drove the last couple of times was so we could get the rest of our furniture that was in my dad's basement. It's actually cheaper for us to fly than drive! The plane tickets are less expensive since when we drive we have to spend money on gas, an oil change, two motel stays (one each way), and we have to each miss two extra days of work (who knows how much money we lose there!). The next times we go we'll most likely be flying.
That is a good point. Flying is a lot less expensive now a days anyway.
Wow, for someone who lives so far away from your family, you do see them an awful lot =) That is really good. I wish I saw my family more. I have no excuse, since I live only four hours away. But I'll see them tomorrow. It is always very unhappy events that bring us to DC =P
I can't believe you got hate mail! I agree-their just jealous :p. I can't wait to see your pirate painting-I don't think I have ever seen a couple type portrait from you-I bet it'll be pretty.
It will probably be more along the lines of a mermaid by herself, stumbling on some pirate treasure (maybe with a ship in the background). I should do some paintings with more guys in them though, lol - I paint too many girls alone!
Oh My! It gets better now the Elfwood site is down again while the work on it. LOL!
LOL! I know - I just went to check on my ticket ::smack!::
Ah well... I suppose after almost a year without updating, another few weeks won't make that much of a difference...
Ah I love Moderator's Choices. I used to try to beat the system by submitting my digital pieces one at a time, and if they weren't chosen, I'd do a few changes and resubmit them so there would be a moderator who would choose them. *grin* I got 6 last year, but haven't gotten any since I stopped doing digital art.
