Ok - I got almost thirty pieces shipped off at the Post Office today. It only took, like, ten hours to get everything packaged, printed, etc. Geez. Can't complain though! Usually this is a very slow season for me, so hopefully my busy season (fall/winter) will be even better. |
My newest contact lenses came via UPS today - yay! My old ones are all pretty much worn out (I wear them into the ground, lol), so it's nice to have a fresh pair. My new ones are just slightly bigger than my real iris (for an exaggerated, cartoonish effect) and are jet black (again, very cartoony). I like them very much - I'll post some photos perhaps tomorrow!
I'm going to begin painting shortly - I've got a couple of things I need to do online first, and then I'll get to painting! Watch me here. Later tonight perhaps I'll try to get to some emails....
oh how weird, jet black! they probably look pretty cool though :)
Tisk, tisk, Jasmine! Speaking as a former Optometric Assistant, you shouldn't be wearing your contacts into the ground, it's not good for the health of your eyes! ;)
Yes! Do post a piccie of your new jet black eyes! :)
Eep, I know ::sheepish:: I usually keep a pair for a year or two. I am addicted to special effects lenses, so I often buy several pairs at a time, and I try to justify multiple pairs by making them last as long as possible! I do take good cair of them though, maintain them thoroughly even if it's a pair I haven't worn for a while, etc. =)
HeHe, as long as you take good care of them! ;)
Aren't the special effects lenses cool?! I use to have a bunch of them (without rx) when I worked in the trade but I had to get rid of them a while back. :(

Just a quick hello
Just added you. I am on EBSQ too & love your work.
Thank you!! I'm adding you back =)
Groovy!!! I want to see pixs definitely =) Matt told us about them in a post, so now I'm DYING to see =)
30! wow, I wouldn't know what to do with that many packages at once.
Oh cool! I wanna see some pixs of your cartoon eyes too :)
Hehe - Matt had to help me carry them all! Mailing tubes were everywhere!
Hehe! I can imagine! You mail all your work in tubes? Are they the priority mailing tubes? I've never tried them before.
Nah, I just get the cheap ones at Office Max (it's easier than going to the Post Office all the time, and they sometimes don't have the ones I need!). I use tubes for anything larger than a 9"x12". Smaller than that, I put in plastic sheet protectors with a some stiff backing board that I buy from http://www.clearbags.com
It's funny, what with art being so hard to sell, in theory, and the economy being so not-so-great...in theory....most of the artists I know are doing better than they've done in years. And I know I'm busy enough!!! Hooray for the starving artist!
