Getting ready... [Jul. 15th, 2003|09:45 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
[mood |amusedamused]

Getting ready to go pick up Mom from the airport!

While my hair dries, I was looking at all the past EBSQ shows - I think my favourite one was "Fractured Fairy Tales" - http://www.ebsqart.com/ArtShows/sh_6.htm

And it's not just because me, erikasfriends, and alohashark all won, either ;)

I had almost completely forgotten about my entry - "Sometimes a Frog is Just a Frog":

I remember after I painted it, Matt asked me if it was about him, hehe.

HeHe - I love the look on her face after the frog doesn't turn into a Prince! I checked out the link and I really like your "Red Riding Hood"! :)

Thank you! She was the earlier Little Red Riding Hood - I did another one (a younger version) earlier this year: http://www.strangeling.com/redridinghoodintheforest.jpg

Yes! I remember her, she's a cutie! She looks so scared! I just "discovered" you in March, when I first joined LJ, so I don't know your eariler work very well.

Wow - there's probably a lot of my work you haven't seen! I've been selling on eBay for almost 4 years now, and it's certainly piled up! One of these days I'll do a retrospective and let all of my "newer" fans catch up!

Re:

Well of course he does =) I bet all of the people you are close to read into your work. Especially your sisters whom I see in a lot of your pieces =) I'd be thrilled if I were your sisters =) They appear in such beautiful work!

Ah ha! Great expression!

If it were Matt, it'd probably be a little Rainforest inhabiting treefrog. Would he be poisonous? Or just stripey?

I would be a mock-poisonous froggie!

I really like this work, and the color is fantastic as are the expressions :)

I also really thought the New Orleans Vampyre was really outstanding ;-) for the Cajun show ... loved the landscape on that one :-) and your twist on Red Riding Hood, and the list goes on and on and on :-)

I love these paintings too. I love the way you paint fairytale characters :). Hmmm, I think I like your snow white series the best.... I think you should definitely do more fairytale themes.

I'm definitely going to paint some more Fairy Tales! I'm planning on maybe releasing them all together in a book, so I'd like to do many more to choose from!

Hmm-EBSQ's img links seem to be down, I couldn't see your Jade auction this morning or the auction I have pending.
Probably just a glitch in the matrix.
Anyway, I really love the humour of this one, ecspecially since its telling a story-I always love art that has a before and after sequence.
Is that watercolour Jasmine? The use of color is lovely.

Nice portrait of Matt!

I loved both of yours and Robyn's Red Riding Hoods! OMG I forgot all about all three of us winning!
