Re: too rich for my blood
Lol! Yes... September 15th..... ;)
Don't worry James - you'll eventually have a nice collection of my artwork. Once I'm rich I'll be able to give people paintings for presents more often (rather than hocking them on eBay as soon as the paint dries to pay rent, lol).
Oh. i just adore Grey Faerie. I hope if my orca paintings are a success i'll be able to afford one of your paintings jasmine. i'm going to start putting money aside. :)
Sounds good to me =)
Hehe - selling art to buy more art - it's a vicious cycle ;)
They are so cute !!!! ^_^ I love both !!!
And the Grey fairy is awesome !!!
My god, that's very scary, I've made a Dead 'ghost' fairy with grey colors, painting today and I currently scan her right now to list on ebay and post it in the LJ ... very weird we both made one with grey paint !!!
Thank you! I just saw your new fairy =- so neat! I really like how you did the rain!
I like painting with grey a lot. When I was in college for awhile I only painted in black, white and grey for almost a whole semester. I didn't have much money for paint, hehe. A few years ago I tried putting a bunch of monochromatic paintings like that on eBay, and nobody seemed to like them very much. I got a lot of positive comments and a decent amount of bids for my "Widows Walk"
last week, ao I thought I would paint some more in the same colour scheme. It makes me very happy when I experiment and people still like what I do - a few years ago I could never seem to branch out more with much success.
Very pretty, I like the Faerie Sparkles a lot!
Gorgeous as always! I really like how the faery is skipping across a field and scattering "magic" or sparkles. Like she is planting them or something.
And the combo of colors you used in the grey faery is simply stunning! I love her red amulet she has around her neck, and the red of her eyes. I think black and white and red might be one of my favorite combinations of colors when it comes to a painting. I don't know why...
It's one of my favourite combos to paint with as well! I'm glad that I finally am getting enough of a fan base or name recognition or whatever to let me explore more in my artwork - a few years ago, I never had very much success when I strayed from my usual colours, genre, etc. I remember when I did a monochromatic piece about two-and-a-half years ago I actually got an email from one of my usual bidders who was angry that it wasn't "colourful" enough, lol.
Are you serious? I would expect people to like monochromatic themes more than paintings with a lot of color. For one, it is easier to match when displaying it in your house. For instance, the "Grey Faery" would look SO perfect in my living room, because we have a very asian themed living room with lots of blacks and whites and red =) I'll have to settle for a print though I guess =P
Speaking of prints, I recently had a dream where I was sitting in my study looking at your "Frog Girl" painting that I have a print of, and all of a sudden the girl flung out her arms and all of the frogs scattered everwhere! They also multiplied in numbers, lol. It was the strangest thing. So now whenever I look at it it looks like she is offering me a frog, lol! I love it!
Ohh! The Gray Faerie is amazing!! I just love the way the red pops against the shades of gray :)
Both those are incredible. I love them both!
The Grey Faerie is such a lovely contrast with her greyness and then the eyes.
And I like Faerie Sparkles boots!
Thank you!!! Ah, I love the boots too - I'd love some real boots made out of leaves. Probably not very practical though. Maybe some sort of synthetic substitute....
sorry for the late..comment..your sparkles faerie is very pretty.
