Oh yes... [Jul. 11th, 2003|12:03 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I'm painting now - watch me here!

I've got so many ideas they're spilling out of my ears (well, almost). I'll probably work on several pieces at once - so it might look confusing! I have two commissions I'll be working on this weekend as well. I'll probably work almost straight through until Tuesday (at least, that's the plan...)

Good god you have a lot of colors Jasmine! I have over four hundred colored pencils, and I'm betting you may have just that many in the form of paint =)

Oh, I've got tons! The ones I was putting on my desk were just a few I picked up on vacation, lol.

I have never actually seen you start to paint. I really enjoy it =) The only other person I have ever liked to watch paint is Bob Ross. You almost dance when you paint, its very beautiful =)

One of the first things I bought when I won some Spelling Bee money when I was a kid I bought the Bob Ross Oil Painting starter set ;) That was honestly when I first started taking painting seriously!

Thank you! I kinda do dance a little when I paint - my hands do at least, hehe.

COOOOOLL!! I just love your webcam! Wish the pic was bigger so we could see more! :-)

Didn't realize you used the bottles of acrylic paint? That's what I used to do my big dryad mural for my friend.

Can't wait to see what tHIS one's gonna be!

Oh yes - I infinitely prefer the liquid acrylics. They are so much more durable, dry faster, and way cheaper. I like the texture a lot more too...

Cool, I see dragon-like wings! It looks like you use the same paint I use, those Apple Barrel and Delta Ceramcoat paints. Yay for cheap paint! I found that the actual artist acrylics are really annoying to work with.

Indeed! I had an art professor who screamed at me for using them, lol. I didn't value his opinion very much though (all he did was collages of oceans, which sold for tens of thousands of dollars - I never understood it...).

That's awful! I've had a lot of crappy art professors too--in my first year I had to take 3d design, a class where we didn't do any drawing, and at the end of semester review the professor told me I couldn't major in art because I had no drawing skills...what's funny is that I was already accepted into the Art program before I even started college!

Do I see another dark piece like "Widow's Walk"?

Hehe - indeed! "Grey Faerie" is also done in a monochromatic palette, with just the red accents - much like "Widow's Walk". I love painting in black & white with just the little accents of colour...
