Greetings! [Jul. 5th, 2003|12:04 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Hello all - just checking in from Kansas City =) I'm on Kachina's computer, hehe.

I'm having a wonderful time here - we had our Fourth of July festivities yesterday of course. In the morning, we went to Roe Park with my mother's side of the family - among the folks there me, Kachina, thedonkdonk, kaokame, kenderdrache, grimsguhnome, novemberhour, callandor, greenhoodloxley, and their respective families =) We had good food - Morningstar Farms veggie sausages for all of us vegetarians, breakfasty stuff, etc. We also played softball.

Then my sisters, Chris, Matt, Daddy, Robin and I all headed up to my grandmother's home in St. Joseph, MO for our usual celebration! We bought TONS of fireworks and blew them up in grand fashion. We had tank battles (well, really any sort of rolling-vehicle-that-explodes battles) where we soup up the little tanks and boats and other fireworks-with-wheels with extra ammunition and make them fight each other, hehe. We had enormous amounts of food throughout the day - lots of vegetarian meats - grilled Boca sausages, Morningstar hot dogs, veggie burgers of all kinds, tons of chips, snacks, salads, tabouleh, pies, etc. We arrived back home late in the wee hours of the morning.

Today we are going to novemberhour's wedding shower at my mother's house. It's so funny - another wedding is already upon us! Not to mention, our cousin Bradley eloped with his fiancee the day before yesterday (we wish you guys the best!!!!!).

OK - I've gotta go now! BTW - here in KC it's been like 108 degrees - much more with the heat index. I'd forgotten how HOT it can get!

Yesterday was pretty hot in STL too thanks to the Heat index of 106 or 7. The temp was in the upper 90's. I hope the shower went well. I hope to make it to the wedding. My friend Ana received her painting and loves it. Thanks again for your flexibility.
