Busy day... [Jun. 25th, 2003|12:49 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Matt had today off, so today was Errands Day. We went everywhere - purchasing an inordinate amount of mundane items. Blah. We came home pretty late from SuperTarget, cooked dinner, watched the last half of the TV-edited version "Manhunter" on cable, and then I sorted through a ton of email. Fun!

We tried calling Kachina and James (James is now thedonkdonk - welcome to LJ James!) but nobody was home. We thought they might be at Amber's house (kenderdrache - I love how my whole family is jumping on the LJ bandwagon!!!!), but I can't find her new phone number =P. Hey Amber - Happy Birthday! I know it's not the 25th yet where you are, but here in the Eastern Time Zone you are 22 now!

Tomorrow we're taking a day off from work and will be hanging out with foxmagic - yay!! It will be nice to take a little time off. After tomorrow though, I'm going to work straight through until we leave for KC for the Fourth of July visit. Ok - I think I might go to bed now =)

It's based off of "Red Dragon"! The book before "Silence of the Lambs". They just did a remake (actually called "Red Dragon") last year - we're going to watch that one next. Apparently they called it "Manhunter" back in 1986 since the producers thought "Red Dragon" sounded too much like a kung-fu movie, lol.

I watched Manhunter on t.v. 2 nights ago too :) It was my first time watching the original. It was great but... it's just not the same without Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Lecter (i'm a big fan ^_~)

Didn't care much for Manhunter. LOVED Red Dragon. Scared me good in the theatre. And the book took me a month to get through the beginning. I heard mirrors smashing for two weeks.

Waaaaah!

You saw the last half and I've only seen the first half! We recorded it a few months ago but there wasn't enough tape and we only got the first hour. I really wanted to see it because I really liked Red Dragon and also because the actor who plays Gil Grisom on CSI (Las Vegas) plays the main character. Neil? Nathan? I can't remember his name. Anyway. I'll have to rent it. I know how it ends but it just looks like a great version.

Hi Amber! Yep, we'll be arriving mid-day on the third. We'll be spending that afternoon/evening with Matt's mom, and then staying the night at Kachina's. Then to the picnic with Mom the morning of the fourth, then up to St.Joe with you guys & Daddy, and then on the next day is Annie's wedding shower(I think?). I'm not sure what we're doing that Sunday (I forget if we have something planned, I'll need to ask Matt) and we're leaving that Monday - yep, Kachina's coming back with us again, hehe. After Chichi leaves, Mom's coming down here, and then I'm flying to KC again at the beginning of August (for Annie's wedding). Then I'll fly up for when Chichi has her baby (October?), maybe even a trip in September. So, I'll be seeing people at least every month, lol.

Re:

I think Chris' bday party is tentatively planned for Sunday night - since everyone will actually be around. Let us know if you have other plans, though and maybe we'll change the date

Do you know what Target is? I'm not sure if they have them where you live - they're like a much nicer Wal-mart or K-mart type of store. A SuperTarget is an upgrade of that, with a big grocery store and expanded selection of clothing, electronics and stuff. Kind of a "one stop shop" sort of thing, with very good prices. =)

No, we don't have Target stores up here in Ontario but they sound great, especially the SuperTargets! Our WalMart sounds like your SuperTarget, with a big grocery store, expanded selection of clothing, electronics and so on. We don't have K-Mart here either but I've seen commercials for it on the American TV channels. I've never seen a commercial for Target though.
