Hehe - we bought our Japanese shoji lamps at Supertarget - they are so cool =) I took some photos of my new living room setup - I'll post them later!|
Unfortunately I forgot to weight the edges of my watercolour papers while they dried and they curled up on me - I need to press them for a little while before I start painting with acrylics on them. So, while I wait - we're going to head out to "The Florida Mall" to check it out!
I'll definitely be painting late into the night afterwards though, hehe. Actually - I'll be painting all day tomorrow, during the daytime on Saturday, all day Sunday and all day Monday as well since Matt will be working from tomorrow through Monday solidly (except for Saturday night!).
Matt works other than being your muse? What does he do if I can be nosier? x:)
Yep! Not nearly as much as he used to, thank goodness =) Hopefully my career will move right along and he'll get to be a full-time house-husband, lol!
Until he gets his real estate license here in Florida (his Missouri & Kansas licenses wouldn't transfer since Florida is not an adjacent state) he's waiting tables at Disney World =) It's kinda neat really - he gets tons of perks being a Disney Castmember, free theme park entry, discounts - fun stuff.
ooooh! free theme park entry ... and discounts on all that totally cute stuff ! i LOVE that park specially space mountain ... all this and disney too !
jasmine is = a lucky girl :-)
Yay! Pictures! The lamps sound cool! =)
I just snapped some photos - I'll probably get around to uploading them tomorrow =)
I love the new lamps - they are the boxy wooden frames over rice paper - very subtle up-lighting, the type I like!
I love subtle lighting too! It's very soothing.
I have those lamps on the end tables in my bedroom! My fiance and I each have a futon, and we put those lamps (that I purchased at Target) next to our beds. I love the dim lighting effect they give. I wonder if they are the same ones as yours? I guess I'll have to wait and see the pixs!
Our whole apartment is Asian themed. I have fans hanging on the walls, little chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and even a bonsai which my cat thankfully doesn't try to eat like all of the other plants I've tried to have in the past, LOL!
Yep!! I'll bet these are the exact same lamps =) We've got a Japanese sort of theming for the living room, and we're doing Colonial India for the bedroom (after I get some more money to spend!!!).
Oh how GORGEOUS! You really must post some pixs when you have everything set up. Colonial India? That sounds quite expensive to create. What kind of bed would you get?
Hehe, it is a little expensive... but I haven't even had a bed for years (we used to have a futon, but now it's just floor for us!), so I'm spoiling us! So far I've purchased our bedding set:http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=103683&RN=22
It's called "Bengal Road" - you can click on the zoom to enlarge the pic - it has gorgeous antique-looking imagery of Indian elephants, palm trees, Indian architecture, etc.
We recently found a very nice bedroom set with a dark wooden sleigh-bed, dressers, etc. - I'll have to wait a month or two until I can afford the furniture though, lol, so all of our bedding is hiding in the closet for now!
take some photos when it's all ready!
