Mermaid Sisters

Love the Mermaid Sisters! I think the cropping really added an edge (pun!), but it also has the usual Jasminetoad finess. My favorite!

I love Hansel and Gretel! The candies are all so perfect!

Lol, I peeked in on your webcam earlier as saw you painting the Mermaid sisters I think? It was funny because I caught you painting when it was just their heads with no hair or eyes. They looked like skulls :)

The new webcam location is perfect! It's even better that in your old apartment!

Hehe - I usually paint the basic head and figure first, before I ever add the hair! Little bald girls, hehe!

See that's something I would of never known if I didn't get to watch you paint. I think watching is really gonna help me learn more :)

Glad I can help! I think that the easiest way to approach acrylic painting is to work in many small layers. I'll do dozens of layers on one painting - I'm glad they dry so quickly!

Re:

I think I'm starting to understand now. I never would of guessed that you painted the whole tops of their bald heads and then put their hair on. Or their whole little bodies and then put their cloths on. But now that I think about it does make a lot of sense :)

Absolutely gorgeous as always Jasmine! I watched you paint The Mermaid Sisters. My GOD you are so confident with a brush in your hand. It really is beautiful to watch you paint. I'm looking forward to the next step in your web cam.. That is too bad that other site you tried hosting with didn't work with AOL or MAC.. It looked really cool, and the screen was HUGE!!!

Let me know the SECOND you have prints of Hansel and Gretel available. Oh and GOOD JOB on Hansel! You should paint boys more often, you are really good at it!

Hi Kayti!

I've got prints already =) I probably won't put them up on my website or anything until the auction has ended for the original, but if you want one before then just drop me an email!

I think I am pretty confident when I paint - if I put too much thought into each stroke, I start to make mistakes, so I just jump in feet first instead. Sometimes I don't even know what I'm painting - my hands just start doing it!

Re:

I have noticed. Your hands look almost posessed when they are painting, if that makes any sense, lol. I mean, it's something I have never seen before in an artist. It's very inspiring!

I bid on the Hansel and Gretel original but of course I was immediately outbid, lol. I'll definitely have to order a print =)
