New Original Vampire Painting - "I Vampiri: Bellissimo Letto" & upcoming Art Shows/Appearances [Feb. 23rd, 2010|07:50 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Hi everyone!

I have a new painting to show you tonight! One of my best yet, and she is the first of a brand new series of paintings featuring Vampires. I have prints up already too! Also - just a quick head's up - I just received notification that the Celebration Spring Art Festival has been canceled/postponed until 2011. So I (and everybody else) will not be there, hehe. So instead, if you were planning on coming to that show - I suggest instead coming to see me at MegaCon next month, also right here in Orlando! March 12th-14th (coming up very soon!) at the Orange County Convention Center, I will have a huge 20' booth full of original artwork, prints, canvases, merchandise, books & more. I'll be there all day for all three days, and of course I'll be painting =) For more info visit:

All right, the new original painting! The first in my new series of paintings called "I Vampiri" (which is Italian for The Vampires) - a new line of paintings that feature vampire beauties inspired by Italian Baroque & Italian Renaissance themes and aesthetics. This first painting is called "I Vampiri: Bellissimo Letto" (which means "the beautiful bed) and it is a BEAUTY! This really is a gorgeous painting - a vampiress in her Renaissance finery - standing in front of an ornate bed and clutching a goblet. At first it may appear to simply be a lovely noblewoman, but upon closer inspection you may notice the hint of a bloody disturbance in the background - are those bloodstained handprints on the wall? Are those pearly fangs at her lips? And what is that mysterious red fluid in her chalice? Hmmm.... This is a LUSH painting - the subtle sfumato paired with the deep jeweltones really makes this piece special. This is my own original acrylic painting, and she is 16"x20" on a 2" deep cradled masonite panel (birch sides painted glossy black - no frame needed) - ready to hang, with a hanger already on the back ready to pop on your wall! She is up for auction starting at just ONE PENNY on eBay with no reserve, for a 10 day auction ending the evening of Friday, March 5th at 6:00 PM Central Time Click below to see her:
