Jasmine's TWO NEW ORIGINAL Holiday Flag Paintings - ONE PENNY on eBay! Spring & Fourth of July! [Apr. 9th, 2009|07:25 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Hi everyone!

Great news for you tonight! I have TWO NEW original PENNY AUCTION paintings - the next two paintings in my "Holiday Flags" series I'm doing for the Bradford Exchange. They're on eBay for you at just one penny, yay! The first is a "Spring" holiday painting and the other is for the "Fourth of July" holiday. Both are big 16"x20" originals and ready-to-hang. A quick head's up as well, I'm getting ready to leave at dawn tomorrow to drive up to my secondary studio/home in Kansas City to visit family for Easter. Nothing is affected as I'll be in my studio by Saturday night - orders will be processed then and shipped Monday as usual. I'm only telling you because it means if you email me tomorrow, I'll be on the road =)

These are both very special original paintings I did on commission for an upcoming Bradford Exchange project (I can't sell prints, but I can luckily sell the original painting!). A little background first - this was commissioned by the Bradford Group for my upcoming collection of Holiday Flags! You know, those neat decorative flags people hang outside their houses at different times of the year. Or inside. I'm doing a collection for them, and these are the third & fourth holidays I've done for the project - "Spring" (which is actually for the Mother's Day flag, but the painting itself doesn't have anything mother-specific without the text from the flag, so it's totally just a cute Spring painting for any occasion), and "Fourth of July" (our Independence Day here in the USA for those who aren't familiar with our holidays). So that's why you're seeing odd holiday paintings from me so early this year - it's for an upcoming project! Due to licensing reasons, I'm not able to offer prints of either of them, but I am able to sell the original paintings themselves, so you lucky collectors have the chance to be the only one(s) to have them! Until the holiday flags come out that is, hehe. These are the actual artwork that will appear on the flags, each is an acrylic painting on cradled masonite (2" thick and READY TO HANG!).

First is "Spring Holiday Fairy!" Technically, as far as the flag series goes she is the painting I did for the Mother's Day Flag, but without the text added in the flag she is not specifically for Mother's Day - just a good SPRING themed painting! (But she'd make a great mother's day gift too!). This lovely fairy is holding a bouquet of spring flowers, while she sits on a giant flower herself. The background is a striking spring green colour - I love it. The colours really are this bright! Again - I will not be able to offer prints of this one, so if you want her - be sure to get your bid in! Otherwise, you can always wait for the holiday flags themselves - I will definitely let you all know when they're ready! "Spring Holiday Fairy" is up on eBay for a 10-day auction ending the evening of Sunday, April 19th at 6:00PM Time. She's starting at ONE PENNY with no reserve, to give everybody a fair chance! Secondly we have "Fourth of July Holiday Fairy!" She is a a cutie! An overtly patriotic piece - all stars and spangles, red white and blue, commissioned for the Fourth of July flag in the series. She has cute pigtails and is sitting on an Uncle Sam hat with a sparkler in one hand and fireworks in the background - painted to the specifications of the commission, hehe. Adorable! Strikingly bright & bold in the colours too. Again - I will not be able to offer prints of this one, so if you want her - be sure to get your bid in! Otherwise, you can always wait for the holiday flags themselves - I will definitely let you all know when they're ready! "Fourth of July Holiday Fairy" is up on eBay for a 10-day auction ending the evening of Sunday, April 19th at 6:03PM Time. She's starting at ONE PENNY with no reserve, to give everybody a fair chance! Visit the link below to see her:
