Pleasseee please let me know when you get prints of that one.. I would love to get the original.. but a poor college student can't quite afford it.. but it's beyond gorgeous.. and perfect for a friend.
Thank you so much!
I should have prints available very soon =)
I clicked on the link to see all of your available original paintings and Theo, who was watching, pointed to each one and told me their names. Their names are "Mommo Flies," "Mommo Rides a Wolf," "Rat Mouse," and, of course, "Rawr Dino Pokes Mommo." Then he said, "Gooey loves Mommo!"
Ellie likes the painting with all the kitties.
Mommo loves Gooey!
Around the house we always call it "Rawr Dino Pokes Mommo"!
Girl, are you aware that you have steering wheel covers, too?
I work at our local Target and today while I was helping straighten, I looked up and saw a steering wheel cover with one of your fairies on it, and I squealed. I'm buying it tomorrow, because I adore your art and it will match the Captive Fairy sticker I have on my back window :)
Awesome! My husband told me he saw them at the Target by us too, hehe. I should have some other auto accessories coming out soon as well =) Lol, I'm going to go get one for myself now!
I love the two new paintings. They are both gorgeous sweetie. I wanted to come out to see you this weekend but sadly with my surgery that week I can't. =(
Thank you Jessica!
Oh!! I hope that your surgery went smoothly and that it will be a swift recuperation =)
Oh Jasmine these are BEAUTIFUL!!! I love how your girls' faces are changing ever so subtly, becoming more individual. And of course the painting with the cats just makes me squeel. I wish I had the money to commission you to do a painting of my kitties!
Thank you Becca! I want to paint more kitties soon!!
Hey, you are welcome to email me pics if you have them of your kitties - if I ever use them for reference I'd send you a free print =)
O.O!!!! Raven is awesome! I just love the girls expression and the way you did those eyes!!! and Karen and her cats is wonderful too! I just love of the kitties, they draw your eye in! they also distract from the nice detail in the dress you gave karen! Love them!
Jasmine, Raven Angel is AMAZING!!! She is gorgeous. I love the way you did the eyes, I really like how your style is evolving. Yet another on my "i need to buy prints" list ^___^
>^___^< Thank you very much!!
Raven Angel is cool!! I adore her dress and those feathers must've taken AGES.
Karen and Her Cats is beautiful. Those kitties look real! And another wonderful dress!!
I don't think I've seen the Masked Fairy on the Mushrooms before, but I love how colorful it is!!
Thank you Dawn!
Masked Fairy is one I did earlier this month, I've done so many paintings in the past few weeks I'm almost losing track of them myself, hehe.
amazing as usual, Jasmine!! :)
I just wanted to formally introduce myself since this is the first time I've ever commented. My name is Tasha and I've been a fan of your work for a long time. You are incredibly talented and are one of my biggest inspirations in terms of career objectives. I am also an artist and I would love to get to the point where my art can be my full time career. I know you're a busy woman, but if you ever get the chance I would love to get any type of tips or advice you may have for someone who is just getting their feet wet in the business. Until then, I will continue to enjoy the brillant work you continue to produce. Thanks!
Thank you Tasha - pleased to meet you!
It is a very fulfilling, but difficult career path. One of the first things I would suggest doing is to set up a website - a brief bio of yourself, a gallery of pictures of your artwork, and very important - your contact info (such as email address). Your website, as an artist, is how a lot of people will find you. Most of the companies I work with have just found me from stumbling across my website.
If you do fantasy artwork, submitting your work to free online galleries like Elfwood and Epilogue ( http://www.elfwood.com
) is a good idea too, I've had a lot of fans and even a couple of publishers/art directors find me at those places.
General advice is to be persistent. It will take years of work before it can really support you. It's important to not get discouraged, honestly. Be sure that you are being true to yourself and are enjoying the artwork you create too - that way you will keep a zeal for it =)
Hope that helps!
it's curious how the same topic and inspiration can take shape through different artists, actually the main character from yidneth comic, drawn back from 1998-2002 was a ghost leader call the "raven girl", leading a group of raven children between angels, raven-morphs and birds. Also in my cd Ancient Shadows I went back to the topic of the ravens, though of course putting me in, but the raven girl in yidneth was so close to yours that it's really scary, well maybe mine was a little bit creepier, but I felt like staring at the raven girl leader, and it's wonderful to see how inspiration comes randomly to takes shape in fantasy artists. SHE IS WONDERFUL. Love the new "in between" mood frm your realistic approach and your dolly-likes WELL DONE
by the way, I had a problem in the factory with Ancient Shadows cd so release is delayed a few weeks, but I already have a first manufactured set for urgent deliveries and press till the new cds come and I wanted to gift you a copy, after all you're the only one who donated twice! and i'm beyond words due to your encouragement. So please just send me an e-mail if you can, otherwise i'll try the contact address you have on your site, hope it reaches you safe.
Thank you Priscilla!
Agreed. Sometimes I think there are archetypes in the undercurrent that surface in different creative people, stemming from the same inspirations. Ravens especially seem to hold some kind of magic!
The address on my website is best! That way if I am not home, the post office will hold it for me - I look forward to listening to it all the way through!! =)
WOW! They are both so awesome Jasmine!! Obviously, "Raven Angel" is my favourite of the two (strange that)!!
Thank you! Hehe, I like your icon!
I love the Raven painting! I will definatley get a print of it! I cannot wait to meet you on Saturday (or Sunday.. I may work Saturday...) It is seriously one of the most exciting things for me!
Hi Courtney! I got to meet so many people this weekend - did I get to meet you? Lol, I'm not sure if you introduced yourself!
