Happy Halloween, everybody!
And also HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my cousin Sally (greenhoodloxley) and my nephew Theodore (he's now THREE!)!!!!
We have stocked up on Halloween candy for the masses, and I'm making some mulled wine for Matt & I.
My sister-in-law Heather & her Brian are coming over and we're going to walk about town in costume, and of course go to other Brian (foxmagic's) house too.
Matt is dressing up as a Were-Leopard. I'm going to be body-painting him shortly.
I'm a little grumpy though, and slightly under the weather. My eyes have been bothering me for the past month or so - blurred vision, red eyes, headaches, etc. I've had difficulty keeping my contact lenses in, and my glasses just give me horrible headaches, and I can't see at ALL without either of them, even on the best of days. I finally was able to see the eye doctor yesterday and I have a conjunctivitis infection, and also a problem with the veins in my cornea from eyestrain. The doctor asked me "You haven't been doing anything "closeup" where you have to concentrate for too long, have you?" (ummmm... like painting??) and "You haven't been spending too much time on the computer, have you?" (ummm... like working the whole time when I'm not painting?). Hmph.
So I have medicine I need to put in my eye four times a day for a week, and it hurts. I take anti-biotics for the conjunctivitis infection and put stereoids in my eye too. They were supposed to give me my yearly eye exam for new contact lenses, but my eyes were too swollen and vision too blurry to accurately determine my prescription, so I go back to the doctor in a week.
In the meantime I'm supposed to "take it easy on my eyes" (yeah, I really don't know how I'm supposed to do that with the amount of work I have to do), and I have to wear dorky glasses. I hate having to dressup on Halloween and wear dorky glasses that don't go with my pirate outfit.
Hope everybody has a great Halloween, no matter what you're up to tonight! I will have a couple of new paintings to show you tomorrow!
