Wonderful stuff - new painting, new STATUE and more! [Oct. 7th, 2005|12:58 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Hi everybody!

First of all, I have a new painting! It's the next installment in my Dragons series.....click below to see her......

"Blue Dragon"

I've stuck her in my eBay store at a fixed price (but of course, if you feel lucky you're welcome to use eBay's new "Best Offer" option, hehe).

More exciting news - I've received my artist's proof of my new statue...... "Lost...but Not Worried"!!!!!! I'm so excited! I took a bunch of photos of her, hehe, so you can all get a sneak peek - follow the LJ link below......

Isn't she lovely???

And for those of you who missed my older post about the "Captive Fairy" statues, just click on the link below....

Now, they are not out quite yet - "Captive Fairy" will be first, coming out early next month, and then "Lost...but Not Worried" will be next, coming out about a month after that. Each is heavy resin, Limited Editions of 2,000 statues each, and are about 6"-7" high or so. They will retail for about $40.00 and will be available in many stores online and in "real life" too, lol.

I *will* have a handful of them for sale up at www.strangeling.com as well as in my eBay store. The ones *I* will be carrying will also be signed/autographed, since they'll come directly from me. I will let you all know WHEN I have them in stock and when I will be accepting orders, etc.

The company who has licensed the statues & is making them is called Pure Fable - apparently (I haven't seen it yet, but I keep hearing it from other people) they even have put an ad for the statues in the new Faerie Magazine, so you might want to keep an eye out for that!

They are even having a contest and are giving away a FREE statue of "Lost....but Not Worried" - you can enter once a day - right here:

FREE Statue Contest

(And for those of you retailers who have shops and are interested in carrying the statues, they have wholesale applications on their website HERE).

Yay!!!

All righty - I'm off to work! Got lots of commissions & stuff like that to do today. Talk to you all soon!

Thank you very much! It's so neat to see them in 3-d like that, from the back, from the top, from different angles - the sculptors did a good job, it's very close to how I would have pictured it in my head.

Thank you Maria!

I like them both - I'm not sure which one I like more, lol. They both also look MUCH better in "real life" than in the photos. It's hard to show a 3-d piece of art in a photo (probably since I'm used to 2-d art, hehe).

I love the new painting, the different shades of blue make the whole thing look really vibrant!

Wow, they did a fantastic job on the statues! I've not seen any done that well before!

That is so cool. Hmm it might be an idea to, if our webshop will be online and running, to consider selling them, that would be very neat!
I love your dragonpainting too. Wow, those nails look dangerous on her knee. I don't feel like swapping places with her xP

Re: Figurines!

Thank you so much! I'm thrilled with how they turned out. The company that licensed them kept emailing me for my input throughout the sculpting process, they did a great job.

I just finished a dragon painting aswell, they are fun!
Yours look fantastic, its really a fantastic colour, so vibrant. How long does it take you do paint one of these?

I entered too, thanks for giving us the opertunity to win one! That is awsome.
Good luck, I hope that one day you will have figures of almost all your paintings!

Thank you Lindy! I'd say that dragon one took about 6-7 hours, I'm guessing. I try to do most of my paintings in one "sitting".

Good luck in the contest - I think it's neat that they are offering that!

Oh man, that would be awesome if they'd pick ALL of my paintings, hehe!

I LIKE the new blue figurine... I mean, no offense or anything, but it's so much better than the first one that was done. It's something to do with the eyes-- but I can't QUITE explain why.

The new statue looks a lot like Korean ball joint dolls, which I'm very much into.

I had the same thought too. The eyes on the second statue seem much more 3D. They look like they took more time to carve them out true to the eyes on Jasmine's art. The first faery's eyes rely on more of a painted effect. Not to say that they aren't both stunning!! LOL XOXO!!

Congratulations! Lost turned out exquisite! I love how they make her little dress flow down in the back and added little leaves! The person that did both of them is incredibly skilled!

The blue dragon is gorgeous! It's a blue day! XOXO!

Thank you very much Misty! I'm really pleased with the job the sculptors did - the fishnet on her dress is actually sculpted thread by thread - they could have copped out and just painted it, lol, but they really put a lot of effort into it.
