Today I have TWO new paintings to show you! The first is a framed original painting of an Eye Study up for auction on eBay starting at just one penny HERE! The second piece is a new installment in my flying fish series - "Poissons Volants: Le Poisson-Lion" - featuring the lionfish - she debuted & sold at the Spectrum Fantastic Art Live show last weekend, but I now have prints & posters up of her up HERE!

Next up - New #01 Hand Embellished Limited Edition Canvas Prints! Yes, a bunch of my most recent paintings are now up on eBay as the first #01/25 canvas in each edition - auctions start at just one penny to give everybody a chance at the #01 first in the edition. What's an eye study? Well basically before I do a full sized painting I often do "study" paintings, small format paintings of eyes or other parts of a painting to try out new colour combinations, portraiture, etc. usually painted direct from a mirror or the actual subject (for realistic works). My husband Matt suggested that fans and collectors might want these tiny study paintings, so he has cut this one down & framed it in an AMAZING ornate frame that really makes it "pop"! Even though the painting itself is only 2.75"x3.5" in size, with this deep gorgeous frame it is almost 10" wide by 11" high and a DEEP 2.75" thick. This beautiful eye would be a fun & intriguing addition to any wall, nook or cranny!

Part of my "Poissons Volants" series ("Flying Fish") - combining my love with sea creatures and Rococo era portraiture - "Le Poisson-Lion" (the lionfish) features one of the most delicate and dangerous sea creatres! With beautiful stripes and fluttering fins that already look a lot like wings, it was an obvious choice to include a lionfish piece in my Poissons Volants series with the addition of some beautiful butterfly wings! The maiden in this piece is a little sultry, and definitely gorgeous! This original acrylic painting debuted and sold at the Spectrum Fantastic Art Live show in 2012, prints and posters are now available!br>

"Microcosm: Triceratops" is the second painting in my Microcosms series - delving into the theme of Alchemical microcosms - miniature life and worlds created in glass jars or beakers. This installment features a beautiful girl painted in a very classical style, holding an aerated glass orb containing a tiny primeval world, complete with triceratops! As an amateur paleontologist I simply love dinosaurs and adore painting them when possible. This is one of my favourite paintings - it also features the iris, one of my favourite flowers. Again, this painting debuted and sold at the Spectrum Fantastic Art Live 2012 show, but prints & posters are now available!

"Poissons Volants: L'Hippocampe" Part of my "Poissons Volants" series ("Flying Fish)" - combining my love with sea creatures and Rococo era portraiture - "L'Hippocampe" (the seahorse) was such a fun painting to do! In addition to the prismatic sehorse, there are some leafy sea dragons too! Seahorses and Seadragons are two of the most magical little animals (I could hardly believe it the first time I saw a Leafy Sea Dragon - they are amazing). And of course in the spirit of my Poissons Volants series these wee beasties are flying about on beautiful butterfly wings! Again, this painting also debuted and sold at the Spectrum Fantastic Art Live 2012 show, but prints & posters are now available!

Good news for today! Firstly - the Spectrum Fantastic Art LIVE show is in Kansas City this weekend - come & see me and 200 of the best artists in the world, all fantasy/scifi/horror/good stuff
Secondly - a new picture to show you - "Poissons Volants: Etude II" is an original painting of mine that I debuted at the Celebration art show - the original has sold but I have prints & posters available now HERE!

Thirdly - my 2013 Calendars are now for sale by the publishers! Yay! Get yours before it sells out like it did last year, hehe. These *just* came out, so they are only up at the publishers' website right now HERE (it currently only ships in the US). Not to worry though, over the next few months it will be released by their international, UK, Australia, etc. distributors and will be in stores, Amazon, online shops, etc. worldwide very soon.

And finally - the very LAST - #25/25 - "Anglerfish Submarine" Hand Embellished Limited Edition Canvas is now up for auction. Yes, this is the last Lt. Ed. Mostly this past week I've been working on pieces for my upcoming art show - it will be the Spectrum Fantastic Art LIVE show in Kansas City, MO on May 18th-20th - it will be my very first Midwest show (as an adult at least - I'm from KC originally and did some shows there when I was a kid, including one at the same Bartle Hall over 20 years ago!!), so this will finally be a chance to meet some of my midwest fans & collectors. It will be a phenomenal art show with 200 of the world's best fantasy & scifi artists - I will be bringing lots of paintings & prints with me! SPECTRUM is this weekend in Kansas City!

I will be at the Spectrum Fantastic Art LIVE show in Kansas City, MO at Bartle Hall on May 18th-20th! It will be a phenomenal art show with 200 of the world's best fantasy & scifi artists - I will be bringing lots of paintings & prints with me!
