New Valentine Painting - Dragon Hearts, Africa Trip, Pac-Man Fairy & more! [Feb. 3rd, 2016|12:17 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith

Updates from Jasmine!

Lots & lots of great news for today!

Firstly - I am on my way to AFRICA now! Don't worry, Matt is still here at home so he can mail stuff out as always.  In fact, I've also left him a stack of new artworks to mail out all the new eBay auctions popping up here each day while I am gone.  All our eBay auctions, original paintings, paper prints, and ACEOs will ship out immediately, no delay.  The only items that will have to wait would be NEW Strangeling.com orders for Limited Edition Canvases (I have to embellish those when I get home) - those will ship after my return February 20th.  But all the eBay auction Lt. Ed. Canvases, originals, ACEOs, paper prints and other items on Strangeling.com, etc. will all ship out as per usual, no delay.

By the way - want to see my adventures in Africa?  I'll post some occasional photos from my trip at my Instagram (my ID there is Strangeling).  But for more personal "behind the scenes" photos (non-professional stuff, just  me having fun) be sure to subscribe to the "behind the scenes" 5+ tier up at my Patreon here

Secondly - my new original painting "Dragon Hearts" is now available here - the original is up for auction on eBay, framed in a lovely frame.  We have with prints & canvases on sale from $9.99 here worldwide - the original painting & glossy paper prints are ready-to-ship immediately, Limited Edition Canvas orders from Strangeling.com however will not ship until February 20th.

Thirdly - my next Disney show is February 20th at the Marketplace Co-Op! Yes, that is indeed the day I fly back home from Africa - hopefully I won't be too jetlagged!  I'll be at Disney Springs' Marketplace Co-Op from 4-8pm on Saturday, February 20th - details are here.

Fourthly - my first Pac-Man fairy statue from my partners at the Hamilton Collection  is now available for pre-order in the USA (don't worry if you live outside the US, the pre-order phase is always in the USA first and then spreads out to the international import sites shortly thereafter, be patient).  You can see the figurine to place pre-orders at the Hamilton Collection website here.

Fifthly (I think that's a word) - we have finally added a GIFT CERTIFICATE option up at Strangeling.com here - any amount you want, electronically delivered via email, NEVER EXPIRES, these are excellent gift ideas (Valentine's Day?) for the art lover in your life, especially if you don't know what they want or what they already have.....

And finally - I have a new batch of beautiful one-of-a-kind ACEO cards up on eBay now - bidding starts at just one penny each, you can see them here - these are already packed up for shipping, so Matty can mail them out even though I'm away in

"Dragon Hearts"
5x7" Original Acrylic Painting 11x13" Framed HERE
Prints from $9.99 on sale at Strangeling.com this week HERE

Pperfect for Valentine's Day!  Please note - glossy paper prints & the original painting are packed & ready-to-ship - no delay while I'm in Africa!  The Limited Edition Canvas prints however are handpainted by me on-demand, so the limited edition canvases won't ship until I get back from Africa on February 20th.

A beautiful dragon fairy with her baby dragonlings - fitting in with a slight Valentine's Day theme (it is that time of year!)!  She is cradling some valentine hearts that are scaled like dragons.... or dragon eggs?  Super cute!

Original acrylic painting is available, on a 5x7" panel in a beautiful black ornate frame measuring 11x13" in total.  It's up for an eBay auction starting at just one penny - 7 days - see photos, details or place bids here - and again, she is packed & read-to-ship immediately!

Glossy paper prints are 8x10", signed on the back from me, are only $9.99 this week.  These are in stock & ready-to-ship immediately.  Limited Edition Canvas prints are 8x10", hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed & numbered out of 25, priced at $100 - note that the limited edition canvas prints will ship when I get back home from Africa on February 20th.  All types of prints are at the Strangeling.com link here.  We are always happy to ship WORLDWIDE.

Also up on Etsy (seller ID strangeling) here for immediate shipment

and eBay (seller ID: strangelingemporium ) here for immediate shipment

Be sure also to see my other Valentine's Day Artwork here for immediate shipment

Pac-Man Fever!
USA Customers can pre-order here

Yay! My Pac-Man fairy statue / figurine is available online in the USA now for pre-order from my partners at the Hamilton Collection website here! Just search Pac-Man or Jasmine Becket-Griffith or item 906644001 at the Hamilton Collection website! As it's still in the pre-order phase, it's only on the USA Hamilton Collection site so far (as is the case with all new pre-orders, but after production it will eventually be on the international sites, Burning Desires, etc.).

Approximately 4" high, officially licensed by Pac-Man, "Power Up" is the first in the "Pac-Man Fever" collection. Limited edition, cast in artist's resin, these are priced at $39.99 each. If you have questions about orders, payments, shipping, etc. please contact the Hamilton Collection through the contact link on their website. And again, folks outside the US just have to wait a short while, eventually as with all Hamilton Collection items they'll be on the international/import websites, etc. soon.

Penny Auction Madness!
Every day for the next couple weeks new daily penny auctionshere

These and many more hand embellished canvases & original paintings (including the new "Dragon Hearts" and a new Custom Faces of Faery painting) will be popping up in my eBay store while I'm away in Africa!  Click here and be sure to check each evening around 7- 7:30pm EST for the next week or two, every night new artworks will be posted - all auctions will start at just one penny!  A great opportunity to get one-of-a-kind artworks - and they're already packed up & ready to ship out immediately - no delays while I'm gone =)  Have fun!

New ACEO Cards!
Click HERE to see them all

For each painting I do, I create a one of a kind "ACEO" Card.  Collectible tiny pieces of art (ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals), they are miniature canvas prints measuring 2.5x3.5" - the size of a baseball card or Pokemon card.  Since I only make one card for each painting, they are each numbered #1 of 1.  I hand embellish each one in acrylic paints, they are signed, dated and the authentification information is hand written by me on the back.  Lots of people keep these in binders to collect them, some folks do beautiful jobs framing them - they are a great way to start a collection or to add to a collection once you've run out of wallspace!

My new batch of ACEO cards are up for auction here ending over the next week or so, with bidding starting at just one penny.  And once again, these are already packed & ready for Matty to ship out while I'm gone in Africa - so no delay!!

Please Note:  Jasmine is away in Africa!

She is currently traveling through South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia & Botswana.  Matt, Chris & Amber are all still at home and will be shipping & processing orders as usual.  Most artwork and merchandise will ship out with no delay.

However, as Jasmine is not currently at home to hand embellish the Limited Edition Canvas prints, new orders for Limited Edition Canvas Prints will not ship out until after Jasmine’s return home on February 20th.  If you have any questions regarding this or any other shipping/timeline concerns, please contact us here

Want to see pictures from Jasmine’s trip?  She will post a handful at Instagram (her ID there is Strangeling) and will be posting a lot of behind-the-scenes photos at her Patreon here for members who subscribe to that content.

Jasmine may have little internet/computer access while she is in remote areas of the world, so inquiries/emails directed specifically at Jasmine may be delayed until her return, February 20th.

Thank you!

"Unseelie Court:  Lust"
16x20" Original Acrylic Painting $6600 SOLD
Prints from $9.99 on sale at Strangeling.com this week HERE

The second of my "Seven Deadly Sins" collection of my "Unseelie Court" series - "Lust!" My Unseelie Court series focuses on the darker aspects of the faerie world, combined with historic and art-history references. The first collection in the series featured the Apocalypse themes (Famine, War, Pestilence, Death) and this new collection features each of the Seven Deadly Sins. "Lust" explores the sin of, well, lustfulness. All of my Unseelie Court pieces feature Art History themes, and this one does as well - a lot of imagery in this (historical allegorical references include Collier, Manet, Van Dyck, Fragonard, Girodet & more - have fun spotting them!). The diagram/symbol on her dress is that of Asmodel, spirit of Lust, the Asian kanji tattoo on her arm is again, that for lust. What looks like the mosaic/censored/pixellated part in the middle is NOT actually at all - it's handpainted tiny little squares I did myself to emulate the look of censorship - it is not edited, that's what my painting actually looks like (that was hard to do with acrylic paints, hehe!). Even though this is not the largest painting I've done, it's certainly the one I have spent the most hours painting on.

PS - despite all the flesh shown in this painting, there is no actual "nudity" in the "naughty bits" sense of the word, so there is nothing in violation of any websites' or social media sites' guidelines. It's a PG rating at best. Be sure to check out the others in the Unseelie Court series and keep an eye out for more to come!

We have 8x10 prints (signed on the back) for $9.99 on sale this week, 12x16 prints (signed on back) for $19.99, open edition 12x16 canvas prints are only $90 this week too! The Masterpiece Limited Edition Canvas prints are $595, only five made, we are pretty much all SOLD OUT on these already though, but we have the #1 in the edition up for auction.

All available prints are here - use the dropdown box under Fine Art Print options to choose which type you'd like here

The #1 canvas (the only one I have left, as of now) is up here for auction, 16x20, hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, numbered #1 of 5 here

Also up on Etsy (seller ID strangeling) here

and eBay (seller ID: strangelingemporium and also seller ID: strangeling) here

Stay tuned for more! Some of the ones I'll be painting soon will be at my July 16 show at the Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles =)

Be sure also to see the others in the Unseelie Court series here

Original Painting GIVEAWAY
All my Patreon patrons are entered automatically. Join HERE.

I'm giving away a new ORIGINAL PAINTING on Patreon here - worldwide, international patrons are welcome!  One Patreon supporter will be selected randomly on or around February 15th.   As I will actually be away in Africa at that time and may not have internet access, it may end up being posted on the 16th or even 17th, but approximately around that time.  I went with an Egyptian theme, as I'll be visiting Afridca =)

It is open to all levels of Patreon subscribers, worldwide, even just the $1 level.   All you need to do to enter is to be signed up at my Patreon by 8pm on February 15th. Every week or two I do giveaways, figurine giveaways, coloring books, prints, rare items, and once per month an original painting.

This month the new painting is the Tiny Treasure shown above!  She is an original acrylic painting on wood, 3x3" in size, a hanger on the back - ready to hang on your wall - sides are cradled wood & painted glossy black.  Nope, not for sale - I'm giving her away!

Only Patreon supporters will be included in the giveaway.  If you are not yet a member, just click this link and hit the"Become a Patron" to sign up, from only $1/month to subscribe and you always get entered in all the giveaways =) There are other great rewards at other tiers too, advance previews of paintings & shows, first looks at works-in-progress, discounts, pre-order opportunities for limited editions & more.

Speaking of Patreon - those of you who have selected the $5+ will get to see some of the "behind the scenes" photos from my trip to Africa!  I'll be visiting many countries, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, & Zimbabwe and will be sharing personal photos through Patreon.

"Carnevale di Morte"
12x16" Original Acrylic Painting on cradled panel $4500 SOLD
Prints from $9.99 on sale at Strangeling.com this week HERE

My illustration for the 78 Tarot’s “Carnival” deck. I was assigned the “Death” card, and as it’s carnival themed I’ve gone the Venetian masquerade route on this one, and I love it!  I’ve given her a dark red dress (it kind of has a Masque of the Red Death feel to it).  The background has an Italianate feel. The skeleton guy on the horse skeleton is based on a very old anatomy etching I came across. As it needed to encompass the Tarot Death card themes as well as the Carnival theme, there are small dancing masked figures or skeletons circling around her, and death on his skeletal horse in the distance. My Plague Doctor / Alchemist character (he appears in a lot of my works) is looming behind her.  Love this piece – stay tuned for the Carnival deck from the team at 78 Tarot – it’s going to be wonderful!  My own acrylic painting, the original has sold but we have prints & canvases available.

We have glossy paper prints, signed on the back by me, on sale this week - $9.99 for 8x10" and $19.99 for 12x16".  We also have TWO types of canvas prints - the open edition 12x16" canvases are also on SALE this week for only $90 (wow!), and the HUGE 18x24" Masterpiece Limited Edition Canvases (hand embellished by me, siged & numbered - an edition of only FIVE ever made) for $595.  All types of prints & canvases are up at Strangeling.com here, just use the drop-down menu to choose what type/size of print you'd like.

NOTE:  if you are a Patreon 10+ level member, you can get an additional 10% off of the Sale prices, even on the Masterpiece Editions (that's like saving $60 on just one purchase).  Sign up at Patreon HERE

Prints are also on eBay here

And on Etsy

And the #1 Masterpiece Limited Edition Canvas is currently up for auction here (or just buy one flat out on my website, there are only 2 left now and they will go FAST)

Usually these items can only be found inside the Disney themeparks & galleries, so this is a wonderful opportunity to purchase these from the comfort of your own home, wherever in the world you live. Use the link above or just search Jasmine Becket-Griffith at the DisneyStore.com website.

They have a good selection of matted paper prints, mini canvases, big framed limited edition canvases, and even a few coffee mugs & shirts. SO glad they have done this! 22 items have been added to the site, and if they do well, Disney may add more.....

Live outside the US? That's okay, they will still ship to you!  Please note - DisneyStore.com has a lot of flashy software that doesn't work seamlessly on some mobile devices.  The mobile version of the website may not offer all of the shipping locations, so if you are on a phone/mobile you will need to either click the "Full Site" option instead of Mobile (probably at the bottom of the page) or else you may need to just hop onto a regular computer.   If you are having any technical difficulties (the different countries should appear as a dropdown box, all countries in alphabetical order on the Delivery page of checkout) - email guest.services@disneystore.com and a tech can walk you through your order.  Again, they ship WORLDWIDE and have many shipping options, for all the details and timelines and shipping types please refer to the Disney Store's shipping info page here .   Again - UK/Canada/AU/EU and beyond can all place orders here.  These of course are also available at the Disney themeparks & WonderGround Gallery too, but this is the first time they've been for sale from Disney online.

Alternately too, if you find your phone or browser isn't finding the items, you can go to DisneyStore.com and just browse through the "NEW" section (click where it says "New" for the New Arrivals section at the top of the page) and scroll through.  There are about 9 pages in all, my products & artwork are sprinkled throughout.

"Smile"
8x10" Original Acrylic Painting on Panel for sale HERE
Prints from $9.99 on sale at Strangeling.com this week HERE

No, your computer isn't having a glitch, and no - this is not a digital painting - it's my ownhandpainted acrylic painting called "Smile". This piece is dedicated to anybody who has felt they've had to censor their own emotions (or their artwork) to suit the tastes of others. Definitely a bit different for me, but a lot of fun! Part of what is a more creepy & surreal series, combining elements of my usual sorts of works with some more abstract elements - this is a play on digital (but not digital at all, I'm doing it all by hand of course - no computers for me) aesthetics combined with elegant and timeless characters, juxtaposed to create unsettling imagery.

This one in particular is a response to all the dozens of daily "why aren't you smiling?" "why isn't the girl in your painting smiling?" "paint somebody smiling!" "wish they were smiling" posts I get every single day. Title for this is "Smile" - the little squares I've done painted over her mouth are to look as if they are pixel mosaics, often used in visual censorship blurring that part of her face.  I have other pieces planned using a similar square painting technique, primarily focusing on themes of identity, censorship and anonymity.

As I mentioned, we now have the prints up for sale! They are 8x10" glossy, signed on the back by me, on sale this week for $9.99. We also have Limited Edition Canvas prints, each one hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed and numbered out of 25, also measuring 8x10", wrapped on boards & ready-to-hang - those are each $100. Both types of prints are at Strangeling.com here.

And yes, the original painting is up for auction HERE 8x10", acrylic painting on 2" deep cradled masonite panel, ready-to-hang, glossy black sides.  Bidding starts at a penny, to give everybody a chance.  The auction on eBay (seller ID: Strangeling ) runs until the evening of Monday, December 28th. We're happy to ship any of the artworks worldwide.

We also have them all up on eBay here also on sale

And on Etsy

They are $495 each, buy-it-now fixed price, we'll ship worldwide, acrylic on 2.5x3.5" panels, each is in a 7x8" ornate frame.  The most affordable and space-saving way to own one of my original paintings, each one is a tiny masterpiece!  Again, click here to snag one for yourself!

My Disney Magnet GIVEAWAY
All of my Patreon patrons are entered automatically. Join HERE.

I'm giving away a set of three magnets from Disneyland featuring my artwork on Patreon here - WORLDWIDE, international patrons are welcome!  One Patreon supporter will be selected randomly Monday night, January 4th at 8pm EST.   It is open to all levels of Patreon subscribers, worldwide, even just the $1 level.   All you need to do to enter is to be signed up at my Patreon by 8pm. Later next month we'll be doing original painting giveaways, figurine giveaways later this month, etc. too.

Want to BUY the magnets?  They are only available from Disney.  At Disney World you can find them at the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs, in Bonjour Gifts and Memento Mori in the Magic Kingdom, and at the Tower of Terror's Hotel Gallery (in the gift shop) at Disney Hollywood Studios.  In California, at Disneyland's Downtown Disney you can find these at the WonderGround Gallery.

You can however also purchase them by calling/emailing Disney Parks Merchandise - via email at: merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com  or by telephone at: 877-560-6477.  Just let them know you are interested in Jasmine Becket-Griffith’s artwork from WonderGround Gallery on Disney Magnets and they would be happy to let you know what is currently available.  They ship worldwide =) When I bought these ones I think they were $8.95 per magnet, a little pricey but they are of very good quality, about 3" in size.

For the giveaways though, if you are not yet a member, just click this link and hit the"Become a Patron" to sign up, from only $1/month to subscribe and you always get entered in all the giveaways =) There are other great rewards at other tiers too, advance previews of paintings & shows, first looks at works-in-progress, discounts, pre-order opportunities for limited editions & more.

New ACEO Cards!
Click HERE to see them all

Auctions start at 7PM Eastern Time tonight!  If they haven't popped up yet, just check later this evening ;)

My new batch of ACEO cards are up for auction here for 10 days, with bidding starting at just one penny.  Enjoy!
